Nightmare experience working with Darwin from restoration and Jim the CEO. Even State Farm was baffled with how badly our project has been bungled and how poor and dishonest the communication is.
In my opinion, do NOT trust your large project with this ServiceMaster location - they have shown a complete lack of transparency, an inability to communicate honestly and factually with clients,l and each other, and will make their inability to properly manage their time and manage their subcontractors YOUR problem. The general contractor Darwin will RARELY be on site, you'll never know which subcontractors will be on site, or what they'll be doing, or IF they'll even show up as promised (and God forbid you deign to ask who will be in your home and when you will need to put the pets away for the day). In my experience, you'll blow through promised completion date after completion date with zero heads up or accountability. You'll have to urgently scramble to find accommodations for you and your pets despite many attempts on your end to confirm dates. You'll never receive the written documentation you keep asking for (and is normal for contractors), and have the CEO condescendingly tell you he can't/won't help you with your legitimate concerns because he has no "inherent knowledge" of your project (despite his name being listed on the CCB website, the direct supervisor of the person you're having issues with, and CC'd on every pertinent email).
Just no. I've done 4 large home renovations, and this has been the least professional and most stressful one by FAR.
Edit: We are about to pass our FIFTH finish deadline, this time FINALLY in writing, with zero word from our contractor from ServiceMaster regarding an update. Attaching photos so you can see how ServiceMaster has left us to live in our house for weeks (and mind you, the tile and floor coverings are new as of this week). Because of the lies in project deadlines, ServiceMaster brought our items and furniture back WAY before they should have been - Now we have to live in a barricade because they STILL can't be put back into place. No word from ServiceMaster about actually helping us move this stuff if/when the job is actually finished, despite using ServiceMaster for ALL of these services.

Max was the primary person who did the work at my house, and he was a pleasure to work with. He is personable, careful, listens to concerns and takes them into consideration. On top of all that, he consistently communicated before his visits and kept me updated on each day's plan. In addition, the people I spoke with from the office were also very nice to deal with. I heartily recommend ServiceMaster of Portland.

I'm eternally grateful to Blake and James from ServiceMaster of Portland who quickly came out after my cats opened a faucet and flooded my finished basement. Even though I'd already removed the inch or so of water that accumulated on an approximate 10x10' space with my wet vac and towel dried everything I was SHOCKED to see the damage. After arriving and securing consent they immediately started pulling up the vinyl plank flooring which revealed how much water the padding underneath absorbed. The water traveled across the entire family room, under a wall into my home office on the other side, into the laundry room, and slightly into a bedroom. All in all, about 600 sq. ft. of flooring was ruined along with a bit of drywall. If they hadn't been so quick and thorough, I know the damage would have been MUCH worse. They were quick and clean when pulling up the flooring, disposed it for me, left many heavy duty fans and a giant dehumidifier, returned the next 2 days (Thurs. & Fri) to ensure everything fully dried, then returned again on Monday to check again. I've been overwhelmed with everything in addition to working with my homeowners insurance but their kindness, helpfulness, and level of organization has made it bearable. Obviously, I hope to never deal with water damage again, but if I ever do, I'll call them in a heartbeat!

The service was extremely professional. John Cunningham was so good I couldn't believe how fast he worked on my floor and in my crawl space with water damage. He was super friendly and explained what he was doing every time I ask him a question. I don't know what you pay him but he deserves that and alot more.

Insurance sent out Servicemaster to demo a wall and debit out. Great work by Max. Took more days than expected but that’s the industry - the urgent first calls get priority so they can get things set up in your home immediately. The return work could get pushed back if more calls keep coming in. That’s the nature of the business. But the crews did their job well and had great personalities. Max deserves extra kudos.
