Joe was on-time and provided top-notch service replacing the shut-off valves for my bathroom sink. He invited me to interact and ask questions while he worked, which was very much appreciated. Also, when done he thoroughly tested the results for leaks and gave me insight into some other work I was going to perform on my own. Great to meet Joe and thanks for your previous service to our country!

WOW is all I can say. My mother-in-law had a backup into her former laundry room. I went over to check it out and possibly run the snake but could not get the snake into any of her areas of back up. She called the Roto Rooter number based in Chicago and within an hour a technician was there, but he said he ran into mud and could do no more then charged her $400. Problem not corrected. The next day a camera technician ran a line and said he would have to contact the supervisor who came out and provided an estimate to dig a portion of the basement and the cost would be $3,000. Then on Thursday my mother-in-law called and said they had to replace a pipe in the basement, and it would be $6,000. I asked her that day should we get a second opinion, and she said no. Then on Friday she called and said they dug up her basement and put in a temporary fix and now they would have to replace the pipe from the kitchen to the temporary fix about 10 feet and it would be an additional $3,000 that we were now at $9,200 and that was with her senior discount of $200, she is 86 years old and lives alone, still uses a yellow pages phone book which said Roto Rooter gives seniors a 10% discount. AT this point I did a google search and within 20 minutes we had two appointments with other companies that would come out on a Saturday morning and provide us estimates. If either company had to replace the pipe from the kitchen to the temporary repair, it would be one third of the cost of Roto Rooter. I called the supervisor for Roto Rooter and advised him I represented my mother-in-law and to stop any additional work. I met the work crew on Monday, who had been told not to do anything until the irate son got there, and the supervisor arrived. Turns out the work crew was very honest, and I was not irate by any means. I explained their cost was too high to the crew and supervisor and it felt as if they were taking advantage of an 86-year-old woman. I explained to the crew and the supervisor that we understood we owed them for the work that was done, digging up the basement and replacing the drain and the two foot of rusted away pipe. The supervisor said he had to check with his boss. We settled on the $3,000 that they had already charged my mother-in-law's credit card. The second company came in on Tuesday and did an inspection on the pipes, recorded it for me to review, completed the pipe and drain repair and charged $1,580. By the way the video of the pipes showed no need for replacement or repair beyond either side of what Roto Rooter called the temporary repair. After many years of using their service to unstop drains they have lost all my business for their obvious greed. Understand they are a large company with multiple layers of workers who need to charge as much as they can whenever they can. Buyer beware! Second opinions save money!

Fantastic service! Josh explained everything that was going on, cleared the pipe, explained how to reduce the chance of it happening again. He is very kind, and patiently answered all my questions. Based on this experience I will continue using Roto Rooter and recommend to friends.

We had a drainage emergency in our home 6/29. Shane was our technician that came out at 9:30pm, he was with us until 12:30am. He powered through and was able to get us unclogged. By far the best customer service we’ve received. He walked my husband and I through all the steps he took. Although, it may have been a little pricey. The service and follow up that was provided to us was for sure 5/5 stars!
