Wonderful experience with Paul Davis. This is my second time working with their water mitigation team. Clear communication about what they were doing and the costs. Reasonable costs as well. The rep even gave me helpful advice if I was going to do the work myself. Really went above and beyond!
Professional but way overpriced!! I had water damage on my ceiling from the unit above. My insurance company recommended them. They were very timely and professional. However they never gave me an estimate of the costs and to get the bill for over $1000 for just drying and very little labor is redic. I reached out to them about the cost but they took forever to talk to me. They only removed an after hour charge after I complained as I never called after hours nor was told there would be such a charge. Basically I went in blindly with their service which is my bad and should have requested an estimate before. That’s why I gave 4 stars instead of three because they were nice and professional for the most part. However I would not reach out to them again due to cost. There are definitely better companies that are more affordable and just as professional. So definitely ask for an estimate before you proceed with their services
I will never do business with this company again, when we got an estimator to finally come out to my house after flood damage my husband had already started most the tear out and mitigation of our flooded basement, the company sent me an email with an estimate of $3500 to do the rest of the mitigation, I agreed to the work, thinking it would cost around this much. After the work was completed I got a bill for $9,135, not once was it explained to me that the estimate was going to go up more than $5,000. I reached out to Paul Davis through email and phone calls on why the price went up so substantially without my consent and was told that it is just an “estimate” and the work that was done was the correct price, I understand that estimates are not perfect but if something was going to go up by $5,000 the customer needs to be made aware of this and agree to the price change, I was sent an email saying “if payment is not received, then interest of 1.5% is added to any unpaid balance” this company falsely lead me to believe I was going to have work done for $3500, never updated me on an estimate change, and then threatened me with interest to pay the bill. I am not one to complain but this is absurd and they are not holding themselves accountable for the mistakes they made
CAUTION! This company is currently being run very unprofessionally; they give the impression of being scam artists. We have heard from other contractors in the area that other people have had a similar experience to ours. We started working with Paul Davis on March 3 2022. It is now August 19 2022. We first contacted them when we got water damage in our home on March 3. The mitigation team who helped dry out the home was actually fantastic, but our experience changed dramatically from there. When the restoration team came in to replace our floors, we experienced a lot of dishonest conduct; our calls, texts and emails were ignored for weeks at a time. They also tried to change their price for labor very dramatically without seeking approval from us nor our insurance company, and when asked about it they had no explanation. They stated at the beginning that this would be a one month project, but 4 months in, hadn’t even been able to schedule our job or place an order for our materials. I’m really not sure why we were never given respect, prioritization or at least an explanation after waiting patiently for so long. Ultimately, we had to part ways with them and use another company who could complete the job, and we are still fighting to get the portion of our deposit back for the uncompleted work. We are having to get a lawyer involved, which is so unfortunate, but we don’t know what else to do at this point, as they are trying to keep over $10,000 of our money that was allocated for work they could never complete. I feel it’s important to share about our experience publicly so that others are not subjected to the same scam tactics. Our contractor, Jeff Johannsen, seems to be the main person behind all this. But it could also be the owner Gary Maus putting him up to this. I would suggest avoiding this company, as there are many other more honest ones in the area. I wish we had walked away from working with them long ago.

My insurance company used Paul Davis for cleaning salvageable personal property and during my meeting with Scott Milcarek I decided to also use there service for my home rebuild. I appreciated that it was a one stop shop for all the things needed to get my home redone. After meeting Scott, who also lives in my neighborhood, he and his wife Kathleen reached out for a quick meet up. Little did I know they were just being amazing ppl and wanted to offer a gift basket for my daughter who literally lost everything she owned. Scott and Kathleen were so generous and treated us like family. I can’t really put into words how this heartfelt gesture was so appreciated in our time of need. I would recommend this company to anyone and I personally thank Scott and Kathleen for being truly incredible human beings. 5 stars!
