A valve failed when my husband was prepping the water line for our new refrigerator spewing water all over our hardwood kitchen floors and seeping through the floor to a room in our unfinished basement below which was immediately adjacent to a finished room. Belfor came promptly as promised, assessed the situation, and installed equipment to dry out the floor, ceiling and wall between the finished and unfinished basement rooms. They also appropriately warned me, “This equipment will be loud” (it was like living in a wind tunnel!) and gave me an accurate timeline for drying everything out. While the amount of water wasn’t huge, my concern was the seepage into the basement ceiling and walls below our kitchen which tend toward dampness already. Having had to pay $10,000 to deep clean and sterilize our basement 20 years ago when we purchased our house, I didn’t want to go through another round of mold and mildew remediation. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure when it comes to water damage. We’re very happy with the end result.

When asbestos was found under my flooring, the adjuster did not want to send a quote to my insurance and I had to basically force him to send that so that the abatement could be done. Best as people chipped tiling on my fireplace and he wanted me to leave it be at 12 inches wind state code says 16 to 20 inches from the fire source. Then he wanted to leave door jams half an inch short instead of adjusting them along with the baseboards and I had to fight to get that done. His moving company damaged an item and it took a lot of fighting on my part to get that item replaced. Their work, when finished finally, my water damage happened August 28 and the repair wasn’t done until January., was good but having to fight every step along the way was ridiculous. I would not recommend them to anyone. Find someone who will work with you and for you and not make you jump through hoops to get what you need and want.

Called with 4 jobs needing estimates on. 2 that needed done as soon as possible. Talked to Doug and he said he’s be out. Never saw anyone. Called him back 6 days later, he said he’d be out next day. Never saw him. I mean who would want to do business with someone like that? Not I.

The staff was very helpful and hardworking. Open line of communication. Our contractor Greg kept everything on schedule. I got a detailed schedule from him every few weeks so I knew what was happening at our property. We had to live at our property during the restoration process. They worked very hard with us to get everything done and respect our personal space at the same time. If any concerns or questions came up they were addressed very quickly. The only thing I would suggest is that the company establish a line of communication with the mortgage company of the property at the start of the restoration process. We found when it was not done it held up some reimbursement payments to us that we needed to replace the window treatments.
