DO NOT USE ALERT! We had water damage on December 2022 due to a worn out/blown out hose on a pedestal washer. After discovering the water flowing through our house, we called this water mitigation company after a referral from a local plumbing company. Friendliness ★★☆☆☆ The initial contact from their Assistant GM, Miguel Orellana, was very nice. He came out the same evening we called this company. He gave us his business card and cell phone number with the caveat that if he does not answer his phone, he is most likely with a customer and giving them, his full attention and he will call back the first moment he has time. However, this one-time meeting is the last we heard from him. More on this later. Communicating ★☆☆☆☆ POOR COMMUNICAITNG SKILL with the customer. What was the point for an Assistant GM “Miguel Orellana” giving you a personal phone number if you cannot reach him nor have him call back as promised? His voicemail box is typically full, so there is no way that we can leave him a message. We sent text messages to him multiple times but no call back what so ever. This is the same experience with all their staff that came out to our house; request business card, call for general questions, no response and/or voicemail full. Because of this, it is imperative to ask the staff while they are in front of you for what the next steps and expectations will be the next time they come out otherwise you will have no idea what to expect. I give them one star because they were quick when it was time for them to collect payment, not quite to the point of harassment, but close. Reliability ☆☆☆☆☆ On initial contact, Miguel Orellana came out and utilized a Flir camera to spot where there was water in areas that were carpeted. But for someone who claims to have been in this business for some time, he still failed to investigate a room that we discovered on our own which was impacted by the water. After this discovery, one of the three different project managers asked if I wanted the carpet and pad to be cut out. Personally, I am not a fan of mold. I don't think that should have been a question more so a strong recommendation. Our insurance company had a third-party water mitigation company come out to give their views on how AWD handled the overall incident. Their review wasn't exactly horrible, but it was not good either. I find it odd that each person that came out was a Project Manager, with the exception of the two individuals that came out to tear out drywall and cut out carpet and pad. I would have expected Project Managers to be more reliable and be able to visually tell where there are service deficiencies in their own staff's work. Are their staff knowledgeable about their line of work and industry? I don't think so. Service Description ☆☆☆☆☆ American Water Damage was called out to mitigate water damage. At the end of the day, they did this. Was this efficient? No. They claim to be a one stop shop where they do the water mitigation and then they repair all damages to make you whole. During the time they were drying out my house, I started reading reviews on their repair work. I did not like what I read and photos I saw from other customers of this company. When it was time for them to remove dehumidifiers, fans, etc., I cut ties with this company. Responsible ☆☆☆☆☆ People do not stick with your case. I collected their business cards, five in total: an Assistant GM, three Project Managers, and a Reconstruction Estimator. I was wishing for a manager to have some responsibility when dealing with these incidents. However, no one took any responsibility when I called multiple times. Again, the only time they were open to talks when it was time to pay them. This leads me to the conclusion that responsibility is not within their grasp. Pricing ☆☆☆☆☆ They defiantly over charge you. We looked at the invoices line items and they charged $2,000 for moving our belongings. We moved our own belongings in efforts to help speed up their progress the night before they installed water mitigation equipment.

Their driver cut me off in traffic today on Hwy 183. Thinking he didn’t see me, as I was breaking hard so I didn’t hit him, I honked my horn. That’s when he slowed down. I snapped a photo of his truck and as soon as traffic allowed, I tried to change lanes so I wasn’t behind this erratic driver. Suddenly he started changing lanes in front of me, without signaling again, cutting me off. Then he quickly moved back into his lane and let me pass, like he was intimidating me. At this point I was so scared I took the first exit. If their work is as irresponsible as their driving, I suggest you have no part of it.

Do not use them. We have American Home Shield an we had a contractor come out to take care of a simple leak with the toilet. That contractor called these people an saying we needed total restoration of a bathroom that didn’t need it, an lots of water damage that wasn’t . Our home warranty told us that a supervisor should have been called out to access what issues. All things with our home is thru our warranty company, These people brought machines out an were rude , didn’t want to communicate with our insurance company nor submit the proper pictures that were requested . They sent notifications to insurance of extra days that wasn’t . Now we’re getting threatening letters. This company is a nightmare

I didn't call this company, my plumber did. They showed up and immediately made me open an insurance claim without explaining any of the costs or what would be involved in the process. Now I can't get anyone on the phone to give me an itemized invoice of costs they just tell me they're 'sending it to my insurance', which means they're way overcharging and likely going to end up on me to make up the difference. I'd leave 0 stars if I could. I should have kicked them out of my house when I had the chance DO NOT USE THEM

We were very impressed with the knowledge and experience that was offered today. After reaching out to the company, they sent someone out within an hour to begin the process to clean out and remediate our water damage/mold. We would highly recommend this company to anyone, specifically Jacob. Thanks again!
